Build with AI

PRD and tasks

Plan larger work on a board. Write a PRD, let the AI draft tasks, and send any task to the AI to implement.

A PRD (product requirements document) in Lyna is a board of tasks for one goal, such as a feature or a sprint. It lives in the PRD panel of the editor's left rail.

What you can do

  • Create a PRD from a template or from scratch.
  • Let the AI draft tasks from your description.
  • Move tasks between columns and set priority, due date, assignee and labels.
  • Link tasks to files, a branch or a commit.
  • Send a task to the AI to implement, refine, estimate or split.
  • Copy a PRD as markdown.

Create a PRD

Open the PRD panel

In the editor, choose PRD in the left rail, then New PRD.

Pick a template

TemplateFor
BlankStart from scratch with empty columns.
FeaturePlan a new feature from discovery to launch.
Bug triageTrack and resolve bugs across severity levels.
OKRQuarterly objectives broken into key results.
SprintA two-week sprint with planning and review.

Describe the goal

Give the PRD a name and a short description. Choose Generate from idea to let the AI draft tasks from your description, or choose Create and add tasks yourself.

Work with tasks

Each task has a Title, a Description (acceptance criteria, context, links), a Priority (Low, Medium, High, Urgent), a Due date, an Assignee, Labels and linked files, branch or commit. Type @ in Linked files to search project files.

Group the board by Status, Priority, Assignee or Due date.

Send a task to the AI

Open a task's actions and choose Send to AI, or pick an AI action:

  • Implement: build the task.
  • Refine: improve the description and acceptance criteria.
  • Estimate: judge the size of the work.
  • Split into subtasks: break a large task into smaller ones.

The AI can also create and update tasks while it works, and a task made from a chat shows Created from a chat conversation.

PRD or Plan mode?

Use Plan mode for one change you want to review before building. Use a PRD to track many tasks over days, with priorities and owners.
